Spider Yaps
Deep within the twisting forests of the Marble Kingdom lived one of the strangest groups of Super Morphs ever created…
The Spider Yaps.
Unlike ordinary spiders, the Spider Yaps were covered in glowing marble patterns and could spin magical webs made from crystal threads. Their webs shimmered in every colour imaginable — blue, green, gold, silver, and even rainbow light.
But the Spider Yaps had one very unusual habit.
They talked.
Constantly.
“Did you hear that noise?”
“Was that a squirrel?”
“I think it was a dragon!”
“No, definitely a squirrel-dragon!”
The forest was never quiet when the Spider Yaps were around.
Their leader was a clever little Morph called Captain Yapper, a bright red spider with giant glowing eyes and eight lightning-fast legs. Captain Yapper could spin webs stronger than steel and swing through the forest faster than the wind.
But even though he was brave, Captain Yapper had one problem.
He talked so much that he often forgot to listen.
One evening, strange things began happening in Whisperwood Forest.
The trees trembled.
The rivers bubbled.
And glowing creatures started disappearing into the shadows.
Then came the warning from the Marble Kingdom Tower.
“The Silent Shadow is awake…”
Every creature in the kingdom gasped.
The Silent Shadow was an ancient monster that hated noise, laughter, and happiness. Wherever it travelled, sound disappeared completely.
Birds could not sing.
Animals could not speak.
Even waterfalls became silent.
King Marbleton gathered the Super Morphs together.
“We need someone who can travel through Whisperwood Forest and discover where the Silent Shadow is hiding.”
Every Morph turned slowly toward the Spider Yaps.
Captain Yapper gulped.
“Well… this feels slightly terrifying,” he squeaked.
Within minutes, the Spider Yaps leapt into action.
Swinging from glowing branches, the team raced through the dark forest. There was Zigzag, the fastest web-spinner in the kingdom. Twizzle Legs, who could climb upside down across ceilings. Glow Spinner, whose crystal webs lit up entire caves. And tiny Pip Pip, the smallest Spider Yap of all.
As they travelled deeper into Whisperwood Forest, something strange happened.
The forest became completely silent.
No birds.
No insects.
No wind.
The Spider Yaps stopped moving.
“I… don’t like this,” whispered Pip Pip.
Suddenly…
THUD!
A giant black shadow slammed down from the trees.
Its enormous glowing eyes stared at them from the darkness.
The Silent Shadow had arrived.
The monster opened its mouth and released a wave of dark energy that swallowed every sound in the forest.
Captain Yapper tried to shout…
But nothing came out.
The Spider Yaps panicked.
Without their voices, they didn’t know what to do.
The Silent Shadow grew larger and larger, feeding on the silence around it.
Then Captain Yapper remembered something his grandfather once told him:
“The strongest webs are built when everyone works together.”
Captain Yapper quickly pointed toward the trees.
The Spider Yaps understood immediately.
Without speaking a single word, they leapt into action.
Zigzag spun giant crystal threads between the trees.
Glow Spinner lit up the dark forest with glowing web beams.
Twizzle Legs climbed across the monster’s back.
Tiny Pip Pip tied the final knot.
WHOOSHHHH!
A gigantic glowing web trapped the Silent Shadow inside a sparkling crystal prison.
The monster roared silently as the web tightened around it.
Then suddenly…
CRACK!
The dark energy shattered into thousands of tiny glowing sparks.
At once, the sounds of the forest returned.
Birds sang.
Leaves rustled.
Water splashed.
And the Spider Yaps all began talking at once again.
“We did it!”
“That was terrifying!”
“I nearly fainted!”
“I definitely fainted!”
King Marbleton later awarded the Spider Yaps the Golden Marble Medal for bravery.
Captain Yapper smiled proudly.
“You know,” he said, “sometimes talking is useful…”
The others stared at him.
“But sometimes,” he added, “listening is the real superpower.”
From that day forward, the Spider Yaps became the official protectors of Whisperwood Forest, spinning magical webs across the Marble Kingdom and defending it from danger wherever shadows appeared.
And although they still talked far too much…
The kingdom would never have them any other way.
