Bablock Hythe

Along the edge of the great Silver River stood the peaceful floating village of Bablock Hythe — home of the famous Bablock Hythe Super Morphs. Unlike the mighty warriors from the Crystal Mountains or the magical Morphs of Novaria, the Bablock Hythe Super Morphs were guardians of rivers, boats, wildlife, and adventure. Their shiny bodies glimmered with river-blue colours, silver waves, and glowing emerald patterns that sparkled beneath the moonlight. The Morphs lived inside beautiful wooden river houses built upon giant floating platforms connected by glowing rope bridges. Colourful lantern boats drifted gently across the water while giant fish leapt playfully beside them. The leader of the village was Captain Ripplebeard, an old but cheerful Morph with a glowing captain’s hat and a magical silver paddle known as The Tide Turner. Every year the Morphs celebrated the Great River Festival, where hundreds of floating lights travelled down the Silver River while music echoed across the water. But one year, just before the festival began, something terrible happened. The river stopped moving. The water became still as glass. Boats became trapped in thick glowing weeds. And far beneath the surface, strange red eyes began appearing in the darkness. “The River Sleeper is awakening,” whispered Captain Ripplebeard gravely. Long ago, a giant river beast called Murkwoggle had been trapped beneath the Silver River after trying to flood the entire valley. Only the magical Flowstone kept the river alive and peaceful. But now the Flowstone was missing. Captain Ripplebeard gathered his young heroes: Splashfin, the fastest swimmer in Bablock Hythe. Willow Wave, who could control river plants. Bubblespark, whose laughter created glowing water bubbles. And little Drift, the smallest Morph in the village, who dreamed of becoming a great river captain someday. “The Flowstone must be returned before moonrise,” said Captain Ripplebeard. “Or Murkwoggle will rise again.” The young Morphs climbed aboard their glowing boat, The River Runner, and sailed deep into the foggy marshlands beyond the village. As night fell, thick mist curled across the river. Strange swamp creatures splashed beneath the water. Giant reeds twisted like arms around the boat. Suddenly… ROOOOAAARRR! A gigantic shadow burst from the river. Murkwoggle had awakened. The enormous beast had glowing red eyes, giant fins, and a tail powerful enough to create giant waves. The Morphs tried using their powers. Splashfin raced through the water. Willow Wave used magical vines to trap the creature. Bubblespark filled the sky with glowing bubbles. But Murkwoggle smashed through everything. Drift trembled at the back of the boat. Then he noticed something strange. Murkwoggle became calmer whenever it heard music from the floating lantern festival drifting faintly across the river. Drift suddenly remembered an old story his grandfather once told him: “The Silver River obeys harmony, not fear.” Quickly, Drift grabbed an old river horn hanging beside the boat’s steering wheel. BWOOOOOOOO! The deep magical sound echoed across the river. The other Morphs joined in by tapping drums, splashing rhythms, and singing together. The river itself began glowing bright blue. Floating lanterns rose into the sky. And deep beneath the water, the missing Flowstone slowly floated upward. Murkwoggle stopped roaring. Its red eyes softened into calm silver light. The giant creature slowly sank peacefully back beneath the river, where it curled quietly into sleep once more. WHOOSHHH! The Silver River burst back to life. Water rushed joyfully through Bablock Hythe. Boats floated freely again. Fish leapt high into the air. And the Great River Festival became the biggest celebration in the village’s history. That evening, Captain Ripplebeard handed Drift a shining silver compass badge. “You saved Bablock Hythe not with strength,” he smiled proudly, “but with courage, wisdom, and harmony.” From that day forward, Drift became known across the rivers of the world as: Drift of Bablock Hythe — the little Super Morph who could calm even the wildest waters.
